Dining for Women Holds Regional 13th Month Event

In December 2014, over 60 women from Dining for Women chapters in the Southeast region attended the 3rd Annual DFW 13 Month dinner held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta.   The co-founder of  Dining for Women (DFW), Marsha Wallace, was the keynote speaker.  Also providing comments were Barb Collins, DFW co-founder, and Beth Ellen Holimon, the new Executive Director of the organization.

Dining for Women is a dinner giving circle. Each month women in DFW chapters gather to share a meal and learn about the women being supported by the sponsored program.  Participants then contribute the money they would have spent in a restaurant to the sponsored program.

Since 2003, Dining for Women has raised over $4,000,000.

The 13th month campaign is designed to raise funds for the operations of Dining for Women.  DFW gives 85% of the funds raised at monthly dinners to programs that help raise women and girls out of extreme poverty.  The money contributed in the 13th money campaign, however, goes directly to funding the operating expenses of the organization.
