Dining For Women Meet to Support The Grandmother Project

March 15, 2015 | By

Six chapters in the north metro Atlanta area met on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in the Social Hall at Northwest Universalist Congregation in Sandy Springs for a group dinner. Dining for Women is currently supporting the Grandmother Project in Senegal, where girls face constraints related to female genital mutilation, early/ forced marriage, teen pregnancy and limited opportunities for formal schooling. The project addresses these issues by targeting and strengthening the role of grandmother leaders to support girls’ upbringing.

Susan Anderson, a board member of the Grandmother Project, and Wilma Wui spoke briefly and answered questions for the 26 DFW members who attended.
