Women’s March – Atlanta 2017

January 21, 2017 | By

As part of a global event on January 21, 2017, more than 60,000 people joined the Women’s March movement in Atlanta, Georgia.  Atlanta march organizers had anticipated 10,000 marchers.  However, heavy morning rains threatened march participation.  The morning rains, however, turned to afternoon sunshine for the actual march that started at the Center for Center for Civil and Human Rights and ended at Liberty Plaza near the Georgia State Capitol Building.

This rally was held in conjunction with the Women’s March in Washington that was held the same day.  Other marches were held in US cities across the nation and across the global.  It has been estimated that collectively 3.5 million people participated in a march.
